What is Levaquin?
Doctors recommend to use Levaquin for treatment: infections of lower respiratory tract (chronic bronchitis, pneumonia), upper respiratory tract (sinusitis, otitis media), urinary tract and kidney diseases (including acute pyelonephritis), genital organs (including urogenital chlamydial infection), skin and soft tissue (atheroma festering abscess, boils).
Traditionally, the recommended dose of Levaquin is 500mg a day. Long-term experience using the product confirmed its high efficacy and safety, including epidemiological. Clinical efficacy of Levaquin is greater than 80-95%, which is comparable to the effectiveness of other drugs and combinations.
Levaquin is safe and well tolerated medication, but doctor aware about possible side effects after therapy:
- Digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, abdominal pain, pseudomembranous enterocolitis, increased activity of “liver” enzymes, hepatitis, goiter.
- Cardio-vascular system: lowering blood pressure, circulatory collapse, and tachycardia.
- Metabolic system: hypoglycemia (increased appetite, sweating, tremors).
- Central and peripheral nervous system: headache, dizziness, weakness, drowsiness, insomnia, paresthesia, anxiety, fear, hallucinations, confusion, depression, movement disorders, seizures.
- Musculoskeletal system: arthralgia, myalgia, tendon rupture, muscle weakness, and tendonitis.
- Urinary system: hypercreatininemia, interstitsialnyi nephritis.
- Dermatologic reactions: photosensitivity, itching, swelling of the skin and mucous membranes, malignant exudative erythema multiforme (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell’s syndrome).
- Allergic reactions: urticaria, bronchospasm, asthma, anaphylaxis, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, vasculitis.
- Other: aggravation of porphyria, rhabdomyolysis, persistent fever, the development of superinfection.
